NRI Branch

NRI Branch deals with the matters related with foreigners / non resident indians .This branch is located inside distict Police office.
From Monday to Friday it works from 9.00am to 5.00pm and on Saturday it works from 9.00am to 3.00pm.

We provide following services to public through this Branch

Foreigner's Registration :-

Requirements:-

(i)Applications in prescribed Performa (one copy)
(ii) Indemnity bond with Rs. 20/ stamp and duly attested by Notary.
(iii) One Indian citzen (with proof of residence) as surety for indemnity.
(iv)Four number of photographs.
(v) Passport & Visa
Within three hours.We get the registration done and provide residential permit to concern foriegners.
Note:- If registration is done after 180 days then a fine of US $30 is also charged.

Extention of Visa

Requirements :-

(i) Applications in prescribed performa (two copy)
(ii ) Indemnity bond with Rs. 20/ stamp and duly attested by Notary.
(iii) One Indian citizen (with proof of residence) as surety for indemnity.
(iv) Five number of photographs.
(v ) Passport & visa within three hours.We get the registration done and provide residential permit to concern foriegners
(vi) Extentionion fee
 
  • upto three months - US$20
  • upto six months - US$40
  • upto one year - US$65
  • uptofive years - US$130
Note :- Citizen of few countries are exemted from this fee.


Within 3 hours we get the visa extended and supply the Residential Permit & Extension certficate to concerned NRI.

Departure certificate

Requirements:-

(i) Residential Permit which was supplied at the time of registration

(ii) Air tickets, Give departure certificate immediately, We provied (stamped residential certificate)
to the foreigner if there is no objection by police.

Important Information for Non Resident Indians/Foreigners

(i) If any foreigners/NRI has to stay in India for more than 180 days, He has to register his name in foreigner registration office.

(ii) NRI can get his visa extended for maximum five years from this branch.

(iii) For the citizen of Pakistan,Bangladesh,Shrilanka,Afganistan and Somalia, above facilites are not available. These facilities can only be extended by Home Ministry of India .

(iv) If any foreigner/NRI has got himself registered for extention of stay in India or his visa is extended then he has to get clearence from NRI branch before departure from India.

(v) If an NRI fails to extend his visa within stipulated time then it can be extended only from Home Ministry of India .

(vi) If a foreigner wants to stay over 180 days in India OR he has to extend his visa, he should bring an Indian citizen (with the proof of residence) for indemmity bond 0
 

Women Cell

This wing is located in Police Complex near Patel Chowk. This is headed by a Lady Inspector. A strong team of 36 lady Police Officers are looking after its work with the assistance of few male counterparts. A family counseling centre is also located in this complex which is assisting our women cell to sort out the family disputes.

Main functions

(a) Sort out family/marriage disputes.
(b) Deal with dowry complaints.
(c) Look into complaints related to harassment/torture against women.

How to approach

(a) Complainant can come to Women Cell from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on any day of the week and lodge her complaint verbally which will be reduced by the Police Officers in writing or complainant can lodge written complaint.
(b) Complainant can ring on Ph No.- 404892 and she can lodge her complaint. Immediate assistance is provided in case of urgent need.
(c) Complainant can come to Family Counseling Centre on any day from Monday to Friday (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

This centre provides counseling to the parties of dispute. Some women social workers also help in sorting out the disputes.

 


Dial 100

Dial 100 Dial '100' facility is a sub unit of our Control Room which is housed inside Police Line. It has got six '100' No. telephones which are attended by Police Officers round the clock.


When to dial

(i) To report about any crime.
(ii) To give/share any information regarding crime, criminal or victim.
(iii) To report about any accident or natural calamity or law and order problem.
(iv) If you need some information connected to police(i.e. phone no. of police) or emergency services.

Our Response

As soon as an information of any crime/accident reaches to the Control Room or any message is received, every Police Post, Mobile Police Parties, Nakas, Police Stations gets alerted by Control Room through wireless message for immediate action. Immediately the nearest Police Party reaches the spot. Ten motorcycles of Police Control Room with riders are placed at strategic locations so that they can reach at the spot of crime/accident within no time. For suspected criminals or vehicles, Nakas or Mobile Police Parties are put on alert immediately so that they can be nabbed. Dial 100 is a free phone facility. If 100 No. is dialed, it is free for caller.
